The Joy of Randomness: Writing the Unexpected
Want a spring clean for your writing? A summer clean? A winter clean?
Anytime is the right time to blow the cobwebs off your writing.
Getting started can be one of a writer’s greatest challenges. With fun, easy to access exercises inspired by reading prompts, participants will be guided into surprising ways to springboard into new writing. Seasoned workshop facilitator and randomness-enthusiast Rosie Garland will introduce fresh ways of approaching getting started, and demonstrate how inspiration can be found in unlikely places. The workshop aims to give participants a sense of possibility and renewed connection with writing. The interactive exercises can be taken away and used again and again.
The workshop is designed to suit all forms – whether poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction – or other forms entirely. As well as writing, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss writing hurdles, connect with other writers, share enthusiasm and (optionally) their own writing. They will also be provided with readings and a resource list before the workshop.
